Special Needs Education
Our learners with special abilities after assessment are grouped according to their different abilities and levels of development, their individual learning plans formulated, the centre trains children who are not eligible for regular education.
We do this basing on the needs assessment and after carefully understanding the concern of the parents. With our differentiated learning approach, our special needs instructors work with children with impairments or disabilities, beginning where the learners are; not necessarily what the curriculum demands through a self discovery system.
The children are grouped according to ability and the instructors build on what the children know, allowing multiple learning styles to be engaged. The concept of early intervention promotes growth and development of children, which can enhance our children’s social and physical development.
This initiative promotes inclusion to advance peer to peer acceptance and support, we further integrate with community schools through games, sports, recreation, awareness and social interaction which goes a long way in building a tolerant society for persons with disabilities.
Vocational Skills Training
We engage our children into productive vocational skills clases where they are trained into a variety of skills such as crafts, paper mache, tailoring, sweater knitting and other life skills to help them lead independent lives.
Therapy services include; physical, occupational and speech therapy which are based on the international standards and practices though under resourced.
Physical therapists address the gross motor needs of the student such learning to walk; occupational therapists address the fine motor and daily living skills such as writing, eating, dressing; and speech therapists address all areas of speech and communication skills.
Therapy evaluations and treatment services are provided using a collaborative team approach. We offer different aspects of therapy including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy.
